There is a woman in RSJ who sews.
Our regular woman in Abreu is out of action , for medical reasons, so I was hunting

Go to Juan Carlos' Lavanderia..... the mother is the woman who sews from her home.

Not only is it a good laundry, but now they'll sew.

You need to bring fabric and she does the rest.

All my work was copied from a sample.....
I mean she's not Donna Karan.....

Just passing it on.............

Use my name..... there , they call me Guillermo

Don't waste your words asking me prices - it depends.

I did my work on faith and wasn't disappointed.
She's new, so doesn't have a feel yet to quote..... so far

For me, she did a blind rebuild and 2 cushion covers

There are a half dozen sewing shops in Hig?ey. I think they do custom alterations on the bundles that some shops sell. Usually just a guy with a machine in about 100 sq ft.

Finding a good seamstress in DR is like finding gold.

In the boxes that are on the way to DR are yards of canvas fabric to make cushions for the Adirondack chairs and chaises we had made right before we left.

no no no, WW, this thread is worth keeping. i will have it stay on topic.

here in POP we started using a guy who has a small shop close to the cemetery. he used to work in zona franca and now has his own place and also rents machines to other folks doing alterations and so on. this led me to the discovery of a secret behind skin tight jeans of dominicanas: they are fitted to the curves.

WW as you go past playa caleton heading into RSJ the first house (not the property that used to be a hotel on your left) on your left across from abandoned property on your right the owner had cleaners in Boerum Hill Brooklyn (NYC) and did a lot of work for some of the local law enforcement agency in the area. I am pretty sure he might be able to help some...30+years.

Juan Carlos' laundry is excellent...closest thing we have to 'dry cleaning' here in the boondocks.

I needed to remake a blind (worn out from the weather) and asked for help.

Nope, sorry - they say
Then he says, well maybe my mother can do it.
Off we go to Mami's house..... perfect.... and well priced

I take two pillows next.... and one to copy.... bang - another home run!!

Mami is flush for the fiesta now.... and asks me to spread the word.
She wants more.......

Honestly, the nicest woman.... and meticulous.

dv8.... I am an admirer of the RD jeans and the forms therein.
I knew there was secret... too many perfect fits on imperfect shapes...hehehe

Miguel, gracias - I'll check on that

Wait a second.. you just now figured that out?

totally. i thought they were buying some serious stretch jeans. but the cemetery dude does alterations so cheaply. between us we had maybe 12 pairs of pants, miesposo wanted to shorten his and i wanted mine fitted and fixed. we paid 1000 pesos for everything.
