We.....in Southwestern Ontario, are getting warnings on the TV, every 5 minutes of a huge Winter Storm coming tonight! So for all you Canadiens down there be happy your there, as we are getting ready for our first storm of the winter.....and to think most of the Golf Courses had the "pins" in three days ago. The temp. was about 60 degrees Far. four days ago.....we've been spoiled, and now we're gonna get it tonight! Weather Station says 6 to 8 inches of the white stuff!.......DR....here we come!!!! SOON! I think the DR will be getting a lot of Reservations tomorrow!

It is the time for us in southwestern Ontario to pay for our abnormal winter, predicting 8 to 16 inches of snow followed by freezing rain, back a forth same stuff next 4 days. Time to head south again. Doug is right we have basked in unusual temps for January the mean average was 47 F, crocus and daffodils are mixed up and popping their heads out of the ground.
Payback time has arrived

On Monday I was taking pictures of the ducks in the river. It was sunny and about 10.This morning I can hardly see out the window for all the snow falling.

If I'd won the lottery last night i would fly up to Petersborough and have a look-see.
Funny, I do sort of miss the white stuff, but not the clean up and the blackened slush of later on.
Get a good fill of that cold before coming down here.

Time to go

I've been waiting for winter to arrive so I can get away for a much need holiday.
Yesterday I booked a last minute package to Jack Tar in Puerto Plata for 1 week leaving on Sunday at 6AM.
I hope for some nice sunny hot days.
I'm looking forward to checking out the pools, beach, casinos, discos, and other bars.
I went to Cayo Coco Cuba and Puerto Vallerta Mexico last year which were okay but this trip I am not taking any sand to the beach so I will be free to have a great time.
Adios.

Petersburied?

HB: You gotta be out of your mind. Here in Wisconsin, its cold, wet, snowing, raining, sloppy and swearing. Well, I'm sloppy and swearing whether I've been drinking or not. The dampness goes right through you. Everybody has the sniffles at one end or the other. What do they call those in W.VA? The backdoor trots? Remember your old outhouse graphic? Verdad aqui but whether I'm here or down there my Imodium is always with me.

Hey, you guys up north, it is winter down here too you know!!! Temperatures actually went down as low as 74 deg. F on Wednesday here in Puerto Plata & last night I had to switch the overhead fan off & put a sheet over me whilst I slept.

We may not get too much snow but it still gets cold!!! We'll try to get temps back to high 70's F. for any tourists thinking of trying our cold winters!!! - Grahame Bush.

Hey, here in Colorado, we keep our snow in the mountains. Sure, it's 60 in the sun, 40 in the shade, and 10 at night( that's 15, 5, and -12 for my metrically oriented Celcius-type friends), but the car starts. Haven't been able to go tubin' at Ruby Hill yet. But I can find 6 feet of the stuff in an hour. And I can see the Avalanche blast the cnooks and the cheeseheads in minutes.

But my question is: When is someone in the DR going to sell Denver Int'l Airport on some routes. I don't want to fly to Miami or Toronto to get a deal. Jeez, Mexico and Jamaica are all I see offered. Spread the love. Where's the Dominican love?

WINTER CAME DEC.21, BUT THE ICE STORM HIT TWO DAYS AGO. LIVING ON LAKE ERIE IS LIKE PUERTO PLATA; LOTS OF BEACH AND THE WAVES ARE INCREDIBLE. I SO MISS THE SUN IN THE DR. NOW IF I CAN ONLY KEEP THE WATER OUT OF THE BASEMENT!!!!!!!!!

Ron "Lake Erie"

We, Lake Erie people get used to winter and large waves, the beautiful ice sculptures built by mother nature, summer is like POP with the beaches and warm waters but not now. But water in the basement, what you gonna do when water levels come back up to normal. Currently at a record low. Guess you will have to move to higher ground.
