so, i'm gonna have a friend visit me for a week. she's all about photo opportunities for fer facebook and she demands that we go somewhere to a nice beach even though i know she'd only take pictures and then want to eat. i am looking for ideas regarding places i can take her to relatively short drive away from POP.

i was thinking about maybe a spa in sosua/cabarete? i googled it but a few i can see are kinda on the expensive side, any recommendations?

i was also contemplating staying a night somewhere like cabrera or rio san juan, i don't want to drive too far. anything you guys recommend?

should i send her maybe on a day excursion? she won't do anything sporty, not sure what else is there.

Off on the road called the scenic route to Santiago go straight at Gran Parada instead f following the road to Sosua, there is a Spa in Tubagua, or was I don't know if it is still open. They do hot rock massages and hot pools in their blocked up stream etc.. I can get details if you cannot find them elsewhere and are interested. She has a meditation path and other things.

Natura Spa in Perla Marina, Cabarete would be a good choice. Great massage choices, cafe and great beach for photo ops. Beach horseback riding nearby as well and Encuentro for photographing surfing.

Hotel Bahia Blanca. Right on the water in R?o San Juan. Walking distance into the center of town for dinner and drinks (and maybe some live music?). Then hire a boat the next day for a trip through Laguna gri-gri with lunch on a secluded beach.

Two of the top Dominican activities, baseball and cock fights. I can't imagine living here and not attending these awesome events. Many Dominican businessmen are regulars at the cock fights.
