Condolences to the family. I enjoy swimming out to the reef in Sosua but always nervous about the small boats crisscrossing the bay at high speed. Boat strkes nearly always fatal even if you are not struck by the prop. I .am buying one of those tall thin orange floats that stick up like 5 feet. Sad to die for nothing because of someone elses carelessness.

And just when you thought it was safe to get into the water again...

That is quite amazing and so sad. There is hardly any regular water traffic there and this poor guy gets run over.

That has to be Karma but so sad!

The pop-up floats for snorkelling in Sosua bay are not adequate. The boat boys just don't look out.Horribly dangerous now.

It's the same way in Punta Cana. Only a matter of time before someone gets whacked by a boat or propeller in the water here, too. The idiots with the small open boats never look where they're going and it's an eventuality.
