I have some friends going to Punta Cana for six nights in an AI. They are wanting suggestions of places to go out to eat and go out at night. A good place for fish? Good places that locals go to eat. Also the best way to get around without renting a car. Is there an update on the Uber service in that area ? Also the best tours in that area.

I have only been there once and had a car so I don't know much about that area. They can go to the Hard Rock casino and Disco without staying there ?

They are staying at the Luxury Bahia Pr?ncipe Esmeralda. Thanks for any suggestions.

Uber has not yet arrived in Punta Cana and I doubt it ever will. If you don?t rent a car, then for a group this size a taxi would be recomended.

When you say locals, do you mean local dominicans eating rice, beans and chicken or local expats? There are many options in the area, all depends on what you?re looking for and your price range.

I know you can access Hard Rock?s disco even if you aren?t staying there but not sure about the casino. I would assume yes.

Anyone can come to the Hard Rock Casino. You do not have to be staying there.

For fish I would go to Capt. Cooks in El Corcito. But go when they open around noon and pick out your fish or lobster from
the bin, get it weighed and tell them how you want it cooked. Do not get the "special platter" for tourists. Right on the beach.

I should of specified local expats. Places if you had friends visiting you would suggest. It can probably be any price range.

I live more towards Punta Cana so my recommendations might be a bit further for you than Los Corales for example. You might want to try out Guaguanco at Downtown Punta Cana. They have very good food and have live shows in the evening. For italian, Punto Italia at Paseo San Juan is always very good as is Noah?s in the same plaza. At Palma Real Shopping Center you have Hard Rock Cafe and Outback if you?re looking for more American options. Captain Cook as already mentioned is a long time favourite spot for seafood.
