Never leave DR without visiting a car wash. These business are indeed unique to DR.

You see these girls with heave campesino voices swaying away to bachata and eating ostiones and pulpo from a cane basket.

Old honda accords with dark glasses and silver stripes pull up. out come guys with gold chains, sandals, white sleeveless t-shirts and sawed off old jeans and of course the cell phone. "ta heavy"

they order beer and try to make conversation with the babes fighting the loud music and the ever singing babes. talking about " un asunto".

the babes act like they do not care about any of these guys and always look away when they talk. "ami no me importa"

after a few minutes of ignoring out comes the dominican female...." tu eres casado?". and the standard repy..." no mami...yo....yo soy loco a casarme?......ami no me diga de esa vaina"

the guy has his wedding ring but he is not married... " tiene novia" the reply..." no mami...como que tengo novia?...no toy aqui hablando contigo?...tu me guta...mami".

" y tu mami....tiene novio"..." hay mi amore que te digo acabe de terminar hace poco"....

HE: y porque mami...

SHE: era muy mujerieago....

HE: hay que lastima mami"

HE: " y donde tu vives mami".....

SHE: " en pueblo nuevo"....

HE: " vive sola mami?"...

SHE: no con mis dos hiyos......

HE: "cono...la creta......entonces etamo en contato..mami......novemo.....adios...."

SHE: " me va dejar algo de propina?....porque estube sentado contigo mi amor?"

Hee hee - good question. Because ostensibly you go there to get your car washed. They have all the machinery and equipment, but it's just smoke and mirrors for the main event.

P.S. In my neck of the woods, it's pronounced "el cah wah"...

just wondering

If anyone knows if this place is still in existance and what the name is. I was in Santo Domingo and while my brother got his "cah wah" he took me across the way to this bar that was up in these trees basically like a tree house, very simple but I thought it was cool. Of course they had the coldest Presidente's and the view was pretty neat.

I even take my wife,s car to the "Car Wash"!

Now is that a "good" husband or what?....and AZB gives me "hell" for treating her so well! I work, and "Play" in Ensanche "La Fe"! Hey, a Poem!Long, long ago,I go into a car wash, not knowing what is the "Deal" They really do wash and detail your car! Takes several hours, really! I go in the bar/reataurant and right away I "Know" I like this idea! Lots of pretty young "jovencitas"!(This is in no way a whore house) The girls are there (Hosteses),camareras,to have conversations, and get you to buy drinks! The more you spend, the better for her.You don,t pay the owner 200 pesos so the girl can leave with you.You don,t tell the girl,"I,ll give you 500 pesos to have sex with me"!You do; "schmooze" to the best of your ability! I like to present my business card. When you work in a hospital dominicans can,t wait to talk to you! All dominicans are "Hypochondriacs! They "all" have "bad" kidneys, women have "pains" in the uterus, everyone "needs" a chest X-Ray,and a "Sonografia"! I offer discounts for all "Analysis"!I am always asked at the hospital if all my wifes "cousins" are so young and pretty! I digress! At about 12 or 1 AM. the car wash will close. At that time you may offer a ride home,or "Pica Polo. par de Cervesas" "Fried Chicken, couple of beers". The "Moment of Truth" has arrived. How will the evening end? One never knows. This same type of "Moment" occurs millions of times a day,all over the world. In bars, restaurant, bowling alleys, movie houses, etc! It,s just that in Santo Domingo,if the moment ends in frustration,"At Least",you go home with a clean car!!! Criss Colon "Can I "Simonize" your "Trunk" sir?

Sorry!!! Forgive me!!!
I don't want to offend any serious thread posters.

When I said this about nonsensical chatter I meant the one
between me and the other two grand masters ABC & missing_brain.

PS. would they let me in without a beat_up Toyota?? X.

Claro que si! It's on the highway on your way to Cabarete...Near the road that goes up to the Intnt'l School and La Mulata.

Have fun!

Sosua carwash

It is actually pretty good as far as car washes go. Even has live bands....maybe they all do, who knows?

It is an actual car wash with bays and wands, little mechanic shop on the side...then in the back is the party joint. Just park and walk on in to the party ;)

It's on the far east side of Sosua, like Jane said. Get there on the highway or take a right at the far end of Pedro Clisante before it turns towards the casino.

Sure you can

Yes X_man,

You can go in without an old beat up Toyota.

But why would you want to wash your " Concho" anyway?

Car Wash Boca Chica

The Car Wash Restaurant in Boca Chica is nearly across the street from Hotel Costalunga. I had never been in Boca Chica and took a side trip for a couple of days from Santo Domingo. I didn't know Boca Chica nor was I aware of the peculiarly Dominican car wash business. So I get into Boca Chica kind of late, don't want to hit the club area of town and see the type of restaurant I've eaten and drank in all over the country. I had some pollo and a couple of Presidentes, checked the bar/restaurant back across the street out and went back to the hotel. So the next day I say that was a good meal, I'm going back to that car wash place for some dinner, etc. Now its earlier than the night before, kids are washing cars, food and drink is being served and the bartender is giving me her phone number (of course that's not very unusual either given my devastating good looks and glib personality). Shut up Criss. Next thing I know its like I'm in heaven with the attention I'm getting from these gorgeous women. I wouldn't characterize these women as pros but it certainly seemed as if some of them were doing some part time action. So I get back here to the States and I'm telling my friends about this car wash place and they had real difficulty comprehending it. I must be easily entertained because its still my favorite place in Boca Chica. What a great place to watch an entirely diferent world.
