In today's paper they are talking about the census they are taking in the year 2000. What? You mean it is now 2002, and they haven't done it? jeez, Marie!...wel, at least they are talking about getting it done. The one they did in 1993 (the 1990 census) was so flawed as to be worthless.
Back home, I heard this happened to a census taker.
Backwoods Census
A census taker was working in the hills of West Virginia.
He walked up to one shed where a woman was sitting
on the step.
After introducing himself, the census taker said,
"How many children do you have?"
The woman answered, "Fo'."
The census taker then asked, "May I have their names,
please?"
The woman replied, "Eenie, Meenie, Minie and George."
Confused, the census taker said, "Okay, that's fine.
But may I ask why you named your fourth child
'George'?"
"Because we didn't want any Mo'."
