Bars in Sos?a close again at midnight
In Sos?a, Punta Cana and other tourist towns, it is not that obvious. But crime has risen significantly in the Dominican Republic, according to the government and churches. Especially drug trafficking with its by-products seems to be to blame. President Danilo Medina of the Dominican Republic has taken drastic measures to address these problems. First, there are extra police officers and soldiers sent onto the streets to eliminate the crime. He also ordered strict compliance with the closing times for bars and restaurants. From Thursday, July 7th places where alcoholic beverages are sold should close their doors at midnight. On weekends they should close their doors at 2 AM.
The entire main street (Pedro Clisante) in Sos?a is now in turmoil. Many tourists are deeply disappointed that the Merengue bar, disco D' Classico, Rumba Bar and Rancho T?pico turn off the music at 12 pm and close the bar.

Yes - Not a good place for the bachelor party - Better to save your money and call an out service stripper in your home town. Much safer and cheaper
If you just like the beach then come for that.

The Rumba Bar and Rancho Tipico are closed completely, they are currently not opening at any time at all.

Other bars close as mentioned above at 12am, except Fri and Sat when they close at 2am.

For more info for your friend, as far as I know Cabarete bars and clubs are open at all hours of the night and close when they feel like it - they do not follow this closing hours curfew in Sosua.

The recent actions against prostitution are having their desired effects. This thread is proof positive.

Why not Santo Domingo ?? Nice Big Casino Hotels... and you can hit Boca Chica Beach for the day, or evening..
imo a lot more to offer for a Bachelor Party.

I can see this lasting for a few weeks at best. As soon as the new cops figure out how the bribery system works. Then it will be business as usual.

Make the party in Cabarete - clubs and restaurants all in one place and on the beach. All of them will be happy to host the event!

I see this spelling mistake everywhere.
