What, when and where?

An opportunity to smoke some good aged Cuban cigars right here on the North Coast, at the Velero Beach Resort on August 3rd 2016!

The boxes to be opened contain the following cigars:

Hoyo de Monterrey ? Epicure No.1 from 2008

Cohiba ? Exquisitos from 2001

To accompany the cigars the Velero Beach Resort will provide original aged Cuban rum from Havana Club and some of their wonderful tapas.

The cigars are provided by Cigarreviewer, who will also act as the maitre d?cigars of the evening. He will give background and information about each cigar.

Together we will present, analyse and open two boxes of aged Cuban cigars and of course, smoke from them.

Each participant will have the opportunity to handle the boxes, smell the full box, take pictures with them and of course have a cigar from each box, to either be smoked then and there or to take with you.

All cigars are guaranteed original cigars and the boxes smell great.

A little bit about the cigars

Cigar No.1 Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.1 (2008)

Vitola ? Corona Gorda 46 x 143

We will start of with a floral medium bodied cigar, that shows off the lighter floral side in Cuban flavors while retaining a medium strength profile.

The Hoyo de Monterrey cigars were produced by Jose de Gener who not only had his own factory but also had his own plantation (vega) in San Juan y Martinez (Pinar del Rio, Cuba). This ?vega? still produces very high quality tobacco.

After aging for more than 8 years we can expect this lighter blend to have reached full maturity.

Profile

Medium in flavor.

We can expect the presence of the following elements in the flavor of the cigar.

Cedar with floral accents
Caramel sweetness
Some vanilla touches

This cigar should make for a nice opening of the evening.

Cigar No. 2 ? Cohiba Exquisitos (2001)

Vitola ? Seoane 36 x 125 (old format)

The second cigar of the day is medium to full bodied and a part of the original Linea Classica Line of Cohiba cigars.

This is the blend that was originally rolled for Fidel Castro and the start of the most prestigious Cuban cigar brand still in production today.

After aging for more than 15 years we can expect the full complexity of the Cohiba blend to be present.

Profile

Medium to full in flavor.

We can expect the presence of the following elements in the flavor of the cigar.

Roasted Coffee
Dark chocolate
Some hazelnut and vanilla touches

This cigar packs a punch and should be a perfect second smoke.

Sounds great how do I sign up?
