Breathless invites top DJs for evenings of music on the beach
Breathless Resorts & Spa, located in northern Punta Cana at the Uvero Alto beach, announces that it will be hosting leading DJs who are famous for rocking crowds with their music under the stars at the adults-only beach resort throughout September 2016.
Rhiannon, DJ Amely and DJ Da Candy will be playing live for the guests. The shows start on 3 and 4 September with Olga Ryazanova, better known as DJ Sexation.
On 12-13 September, DJ Amely, known as the DJ Super Model No. 1, brings her particular mix of electronic music and Dutch hits.
On 10-11 September, DJ Rhiannon, the number one woman DJ from Canada, will be playing together with DJ sixty9. DJ Da Candy, regarded as the sexiest DJ in the world, will be closing the month of electronic music. The producer, model, singer, host and dancer will be playing with Willi Monfret.

Puerto Plata?s discovery show set for 5, 6, 7 October
Once a year the travel trade meets to find out what?s happening in Puerto Plata. In its fifth consecutive year, the Discover Puerto Plata show takes place at the Iberostar Costa Dorada. It is organized by the Puerto Plata Tourism and Culture Cluster with the backing of the Ministry of Tourism.
The event starts on Wednesday, 5 October 2016 and the events continue on 6 and 7 October.
Learn more about the north coast from Punta Rucia (Cayo Arena) to Playa Grande and Cabrera, including the popular beach areas of Cofresi, Playa Dorada, Costa Dorada, Sosua and Cabarete.

Working on building the Caribbean Air Hub
Tourism and aviation sector representatives met in the Dominican Republic last week to focus on strengthening the Dominican Republic?s position as a major aviation hub in the Caribbean. The meeting was attended by Civil Aviation Board (JAC) president Roger Jover, National Hotel & Tourism Association president Simon Suarez, the local Tour Operators Association (Opetur) president Elizabeth Tovar, Caribbean Tourism Bourse president Luis Felipe Aquino, Aerodom?s director of new routes Riad Simon and Punta Cana International Airport?s director of operations Giovanni Rainieri.

National Symphony season starts 10 August
Maestro Jose Antonio Molina, conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra, has announced the start of the summer symphony concerts for Wednesday, 10 August 2016. The season will end with a concert on 16 November. The concerts, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture with the backing of the Fundacion Sinfonia, are scheduled for 8:30pm at the main Carlos Piantini Hall at the National Theater in Santo Domingo.

The scheduled concerts are:
Wednesday, 10 August 2016: Opening night conducted by Maestro Jose Antonio Molina with Ukrainian pianist Vadym Kholodenko playing the Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18. Also the Coriolan Overture by Beethoven and the Symphony No. 7 in D minor by Dvorak.
Wednesday, 24 August: Dominican violinist Antonio Rincon (first violin with the West Palm Beach Opera Orchestra, Boca Raton Symphonia and Palm Beach Symphony in Florida) will perform the national premiere of Concerto for violin and orchestra by Khachaturian conducted by Maestro Guillermo Mota Curiel, who is the associate director and violinist of the National Symphony Orchestra. On the evening program is also Great Russian Easter Overture by Rimsky Korsakov and the Prokofiev Romeo and Juliet Suite.
Wednesday, 12 October. Conducted by Maestro Jose Antonio Molina, with soloist harpist Andre Tarantiles, and principal flute of the National Symphony Theater Alaima Gonzalez, will perform Mozart Concerto for Flute, Harp and Orchestra in C major. That evening the orchestra will also perform Mozart's Overture: The Marriage of Figaro and Brahms Symphony No 2 in D major.
Wednesday, 9 November: Maestro Molina will conduct violinist Kristin Lee and cellist Jonah Kim in the Brahms' Concerto in A minor for Violin, Cello and Orchestra and the Symphony No 1 in C minor.
Wednesday, 16 November: Closing concert. Guest conductor Kenneth Woods who is the artistic director and principal conductor of the English Symphony Orchestra. He will conduct the performance of Dominican soprano Paola Ines Gonzalez in the Concerto for Coloratura and Orchestra by Reinhold Gliere. The program also includes two works by Brahms: the Academic Festival Overture and the Symphony No. 4.
