A friend who lives in the area says there might be some kind of special going on for the next month or so. Day pass to have lunch and play golf. Anyone know anything ?

I think you can play for 500 US$ / 2 persons / 9 or 18 holes, caddie and cart not included
but there is a cash credit you can use for lunch.
I believe they are also offering residents/dominicans room rates starting at 800 US$ per day,
not sure if a round of golf is included in that rate or not.

Best to call them directly, the good side of all this is that its open again to the public even if its just for the rest of the summer.

Please stop calling it a "deal". I am sure the locals suffers from the lack of players

I agree $500 for two rounds of golf is absurd even if it includes a sandwich. Hell it was not that long ago the course was $75 a round + caddy. So save your money and stay in the US and you can play two rounds for 2 at Pebble Beach for the air faire. What break do gringos with c?dula and DR passport receive?

even if that 500 dollars included two extra "holes" to play with you'd still be overpaying. yikes.

Green fees at Pebble Beach is $495 for ONE.

Pebble Beach green fee: Almost $500

Yes, the green fee for Pebble is $495, which it's been for the better part of the last decade.

I not sure about that. Several friends of mine headed off to Mexico with a group of 32 from Jarabacoa and Santiago for a ten day golf vacation. Last year they went to Pinehurst. There are quite a few locals with money that golf. $245 at Teeth of the dog per person so this is compareable.
