The murder was reported by the Canadian Broadcasting National news yesterday. Tourist season is not that far away. Not a good thing to broadcast. A lot of Canadians shied away from Mexico last year because of the violence against tourists. Violence against Canadians in the DR is still rare, however, media hyped stories have the ability to affect Canada-DR tourism.

At 81, the man might have been 'susceptible' to friends - of a younger age

Pathetic, maybe, but a possibility nonetheless

From the article "At least five foreign visitors have been killed so far this year in different tourist zones of the Dominican Republic."

Well I guess writing "at least five" covers the writer of this article but my count has it at more than double that.

If you factor in tourists killed by traffic accidents, drownings when drunk etc., the numbers definitely are larger, especially in Mexico.

DV8, wasn't there a woman in Samana or LT and the Belgium woman in Costambar? Let me get another cup of coffee and maybe it will come back to me.
