I saw this last week. By the Melia Hotel beach. If he could give me 2500 ft. I would like to Skydive from this thing.

They have been around for years, called FIB's: Flying Inflatable Boats.

I have a couple of hours in a Seair training around St. Pete Beach post development. Although made in Orlando, they chose the Gulf of Mexico because of better (less) wind. One of my flying students invested in the company.

There are other brands, I think Polaris is a popular line..

Maybe 10 years ago crossing the Mississippi River on the bridge at Memphis TN There was a guy with one of these selling rides for $50.00. We didn't go up but wanted to.

Yeah, the FlyBoat has been around since at least 2013. Though they usually don't operate much, if at all, in low season. Were they flying today?

You should ask the guy and see what he says. If you do, I'd be interested how high up it could safely go..

I have a USPA Master License, that means I can pull at 2,000 feet. But I have made many jumps from 1500 feet . I would not try less than that, and only at 1500 ft. in special circumstances.

I think he can go to 2,000 feet or more in that thing.

Just to add, I think if he went to 2,000 feet it would be a lot safer for me than him.

If I'm dying its on the ground not in some flying rubber boat. Looks nuts to me. Planes fly boats sail.

I know on the Seair, a ballistic 'chute is available in case something goes really wrong up there....

My neighbor in Louisiana had a version of this that could be easily converted to wheeled-landing gear and he flew it over our house on a daily basis and even had a landing zone made in his back field. A noisy little machine, definitely, but very slow.

It shouldn't be allow anywhere near people on a public beach. It's only a matter of time before somebody gets chopped up by that thing.
