Sounds rather unpleasant. At least it isn't yet considered a fatal disease. Only a matter of time I suppose until someone infected dies due to a compromised immune system or other underlying condition.

Seems to me, humanity who is generally considered the destroyer of species, should be working on the removal of Aedes aegypti from the tree of life. If we can genetically modify plants and animals now, arranging for the eradication of this single species of mosquito should be within the realm of possibility. Not the only species of mosquito that spreads disease but this one species certainly seems to be the vector for much suffering and death and probably won't be missed within the ecosystem or the food chain.
