Good thing there's Google no? ;)

I used a dictionary of the printed sort. I do not believe that Google translate would work on a compound word that long.

I was wrong: Google translate returned this: Floor sanding machine rental. I was wrong.

But my dictionary method also worked. I was unsure whether the rental machined rented wooden floor sanders or marble floor polishers.

I used to buy Bosch tools. Winkleschleiffer. was what my machine was sometimes called also Vinkleshliver. In English it was an angle grinder, though not to grid angles, but the head was at an angle from the motor.I have always wondered if German is really that fluid? My grandfather spoke German and he spoke of high German and low German. Or was the spelling with the V Dutch or some other language?
