Looking at the fall schedule, I see WestJet is upping their flight frequency -

Starting Oct 24 there will be 5 flights weekly to POP

Starting mid-December, AZS gets 2 flights a week.

Interesting to see AZS getting another flight.

All good for Torontonians and others.

I am nervous about WestJet now. I came from Ottawa and they forgot to transfer the bags of everyone from Ottawa on the flight. I took them 4 days for them to deliver my bag.

That sucks, although, I got a flight and medical coverage for December into POP, for cheaper than I was able to just buy flights for the last 4 years

It was a godsend when WestJet started flying full time from my airport. I usually get down to the DR and back via Toronto for about $600, if I book a month in advance. Prior to that I had to suffer Air Canada's much higher rates, bare bones services and unexpected delays. If there is a family issue, I can get home on WestJet within a day or two from POP. Long live WestJet!

We used to fly from Hamilton, ON to Punta Cana in January and back in March. The airport is a 10 minute cab ride from home.
Booked the flight again this year then got a call from Westjet saying they aren't doing that route this winter, so now have to
fly out of Toronto.

Be careful with Air Transat. No cancellation or change unless you buy insurance when you book.

Good to know, Im planning visit Canada next year before they close winter flights into SDQ, so better buy insurance with them, I will ask to a friend that works with them, maybe depends on what kind of fare you book.
