I have seen quite a few of these coming up with reasonable prices. They are the shape and look that I like, I think comfy sitting position (seat/handles/etc.) and with large and wide tires, I assume they are smooth and pleasant on the road for a longer trips (I really struggle to go 30 minutes on my pasola, not a nice experience !).

Am I correct to assume these are manufactured by United Motors in the US and were imported here !? Are they any good, reliable and can find spare parts and someone to repair them !? (they are now also Chinese copies of these only one or two years old, about the same price - I wonder if they are better options for this island (for repairs and parts) !?

(Of course there are other options of the likes of Harley etc, but those are 5 or 10 times more expensive...)

UM is an Indian motorcycle.

The Renegade is a single-cylinder 200cc bike and on the heavy side.

These bikes are basically CG200's dressed up to look like a Hardley.

If you like a well-built simple bike with the cruiser look, these are also available in the DR:

Thanks for clarifying UM, I don't know why I read somewhere they were US bikes, that explains the cheaper price.

What is the name, make and model of the bike in the photo you sent, I can't see any details from the photo... !?

Yes, I am pretty sure it is copied/inspired by that. I guess with a large body and small engine it is not for racer boys but just cruising at comfortable speeds down the DR coast lines - sounds fun....

There is another interesting model recently selling in DR, called "Gato tipo Harley"... ! (not expensive either but it only comes in this colour !?)

UM is a US born company. *The bikes are designed in the US, but manufacturing is outsourced to India. *Their market niche is Latin America. *

I had the UM 200cc dual sport / adventure bike. *It was very comfy, very reliable and very well built. *The quality of the metal was far superior to the standard Chinese bikes you se here like Loncin, 3000, Gato, CG etc.

I have since sold it, and the new owner uses it as his daily driver. *The only caveat I can add is that genuine parts can be hard to come by, but not impossible.
