Is the Jumbo market open by San Juan mall? *
Also what is current status of Blue Mall Punta Cana?

Jumbo is supposed to open in December and looks like Blue Mall will be around the same time too.

No way Jumbo will be open in December. Have you been there lately? And double ditto for the Blue Mall.

Key word "supposed". I'm sure they're going to be pushing hard in the next few weeks, Jumbo won't want to miss the Xmas sales.

They would have to open in 5 weeks then. They can push all they want it will not happen. And the Blue Mall is not even close to opening.

The pace of all contruction around here is painfully slow. Projects like those in the U.S. would have been completed months ago. They can build an entire Wal Mart Super Center in less than 3 months from ground breaking to grand opening. And it's still standing 10 years later!

That's true, one being built near us. *However, they brought in massive prefab concrete walls and just dropped them into place.

Do those even exist in DR?

When I went by on Sunday I saw a forklift bringing in what appeared to be display shelves into the Jumbo portion at Downtown. *The righthand side is for individual stores and restaurants.

Driving by, I've had a chance to peek into Jumbo a few times this week. *Aisles are stocked with products and signage is up. *Obviously the rest of the plaza still has a ways to go but it looks like they're pushing hard to open soon...

Yes!

But only in a much smaller size (6"x16")

Drove by both yesterday. *Blue Mall will probably be end of Jan or early February. Jumbo is looking like a couple of weeks. Most shelves are in and they are finishing the surface lot and parkade ramp.

According to their Facebook page, Jumbo is opening Dec. 10.
