The machines were out last night.

Also, the Barrio Buzz is that Dengue is about. There are many people getting mild illnesses which include vomiting, lethargy, headaches, and muscle soreness. It tends to hang on for a week. I've been dealing with it since Saturday. Dengue is an RNA virus like Zika, so it mutates quickly and people can get it a second time.

I don't know of anybody that has been tested to confirm Dengue, but we do have a bumper crop of mosquitoes going. I have screens on the windows, but still have more than enough in the house.

Spraying is rather pointless as they hatch twice a day I believe

Exactly. Remove the breeding grounds(standing water areas, etc.) and decrease the risk of a infestation. Otherwise your putting a band aid on a sucking chestwound.*

Being proactive is very un Dominican and will not happen. *Just buy a good mosquito repellant and apply after your sunscreen. Worked fine for me for years. You do not know what sick really feels like till you get a good dose of dengue.
