This is a long standing story of government officials ignoring the law and not making financial declarations and the government not taking action.

In Dominican Today this morning they posted.........

Thousands of Dominican Republic officials are scofflaws again

Santo Domingo.- The Accounts Chamber on Friday sent to the National Treasury a list of 4,727 officials who as of November 4, 2016 had yet to submit their financial statement, a violation of the law now normal in the Dominican Republic.
The delivery seeks to comply with the law that calls for withholding the wages of those officials until they comply with Law 311-14 on Affidavit of Patrimony of Public Officials, the Accounts Chamber said.
The list even includes five senators and 171 deputies, in addition to mayors, provincial governors, among the officials who've yet to comply.

And just now we get this......

A declaraci?n jurada which translates to affidavit is mentioned rather than an audited financial statement is what they must now provide.

Any clarity on this anyone?

A signed declaration in front of and signed and witnessed by a notary. Meaning if false you go to jail.
