With the state of emergency declared in many provinces of the Dominican Republic, I wonder what is happening in Haiti in terms of rain and its effects. They must be in deep trouble? *Weren't a lot of those "temporary tents" set up in plains prone to flooding (on a good day)?

Is must be raining over there as well! *Anyone knows of any sources of news?

Haiti has been in a state of emergency for as long as I can remember.. with or without the rain.

Haiti is in dire straits with looming food shortages from lost crops from the hurricane. It's about to get much worse before it gets better. Last I heard they were about 3-4 weeks out from when the shortages are going to tighten their grip. The president was begging for money to replant crops, but they only had about 10% of what they needed. Although replanting the crops will do little to alleviate the shorter term looming crisis.

Ironically, they seem to roll with the punches, so I bet the additional rains caused little harm.
