I went to free concert here in Santiago last Sunday evening at Parque Colon on Del Sol.
Great performance but unfortunately after about 45 minutes was cut short due to the weather.

The highlight is the Queens message to everyone in the British Commonwealth ..always an inspiration to listen to this wonderful Sovereign . The morning is always a little difficult after the Dominican Christmas dinner on the 24th and of course for most people with families it is the big day in the year to be all together and really no need for commercial attractions on this day.
Leading up to Christmas it is an orgy of spending the extra months pay on unneeded presents and other items ..all at inflated prices ..if only there was a nice Christmas pudding to buy where Mother could insert all the sixpences and with wonderful christmas brandy sauce ..I suppose there must be a shop somewhere who sells them .
In some countries that I have lived in Christmas brings out the best in people as they volunteer time and food to the homeless and lonely people so that they may also have a good Christmas luncheon .I have not seen this service in the DR ...maybe the evangelical churches do this .
