I'm heading up to samana peninsula from SD in a private vehicle in a few hours and have been trying to figure out where to stay. The main purpose of the trip is whale watching and I have reservations with Kim at 10am tomorrow.
So where to spend the night? I would rather not spend more than US$150 (4 adults and 1 baby). I've never been to las galeras but not sure of road condition and how long a drive time. I was in samana city over 10 years ago as a backpacker but can't remember much. I've been in las terrenas 3 years ago so I am willing to go back but I am having a hard time finding a hotel (left my LP tourbook on the couch back home!)
Don't need luxury but would like AC and more than anything a hot shower!
