easy....get residency. with what is happening the world over, in regard to immigrants, you might find that the authorities might not take kindly to illegals in their country, when their nationals are in peril of expulsion from other countries.

You can email 360totalcare@gmail.com for condo listings. They manage about 40 condos in the area, all in gated communities.

Yes, we are in Punta Cana Village, near the airport. I believe that homeowners here get some kind of discount at the Las Canas golf club but not sure about tenants. I can find out if you like. Another advantage with PC Village is that Punta Cana International School is within walking distance. Punta Cana Resort and Club's more exclusive residential areas - Hacienda, Arrecife, Tortuga, Marina and Corales - are nearer the beach and golf courses but a little further from the school.

Cocotal is also a good place to live if you want access to a golf course and is near the main shopping centres Palma Real and San Juan. I don't know anyone in White Sands - it seems a bit out of the way and you'd have to drive to get anywhere, opposed to PC Village and Cocotal where you have shops and entertainment within walking distance.

Iberostar is near the Bávaro Bilingual school.

Cap Cana and the comparatively affordable Cuidad las Canas for Heritage School.

I would avoid Pueblo Bávaro and Residencial Bávaro-Punta Cana due to increasing problems with security and maintenance.

There are more and more options that I have not mentioned - I have concentrated on places near the schools and golf courses. Best recommendation would be to come and drive around and compare the pros and cons of each.

Some but not all apartment complexes have pools. Rents vary. I will send you some contacts for RE agents by PM.

Go on line and find a real estate agent in the Punta Cana area. There are many listed who can help you. You can also go to vrbo.com... vacation rental by owner. There are many listed there by private individuals. You need to contact the closest DR consulate in your home country to find out the requirements for residency. This process starts in your home country. You will need to get a number of documents, including a criminal background check, with fingerprints and other documents. These need to be translated into Spanish and appostilized. They need to be approved by the DR consulate and then brought to the DR. You will need to hire an attorney to walk your paperwork through the system. The cost of this varies from $1800-2500 us dollars. It will take about 6-12months to complete this in the DR. A lot of info on both of your questions can be found on-line.

If you plan on working while you're here, you'll have to have a Work Visa or a Residency. Dominican businesses are required by law to have 80% Dominican Citizen employees or else they face stiff fines from the Government. Money can go fast here if you live somewhere like Cap Cana, Cocotal or even Punta Cana Village, as the rents and prices are considerably higher in those locations. Do you speak Spanish? If you do, and do it fluently, your chances of getting employment here is much higher.
