Dominican Republic-Los Mina-Advanced Customer Support Engineer

Provide customer interface on operating plants, working with assigned customers to develop and implement programs to restore or improve availability/reliability, solve operating problems, reduce O&M cost and improve performance. Works closely with service marketing to develop and implement market plan.

This function requires dedicated, self-starting, creative individuals with knowledge of combustion turbine plants, project engineering skills, good commercial sense, to perform the following tasks for assigned operating customers:

Provide prime technical interface and maintain customer relationships up through customer site operations personnel.

Keep customers advised of modifications effecting operation and maintenance of units.

Identify, recommend and help technically sell improvement and upgrade programs.

With customer plan, schedule, make recommendations and implement plant outages.

Identify and help resolve warranty and commercially sensitive issues, monitor associated costs.

Provide interpretation and ensure customer requirements are satisfied for all service orders.

Ensure technical correspondence, operating history and configuration records are maintained.

Provide technical guidance to PGSD engineers.

Identify, interpret and help resolve problems associated with forced outages.

Help train other personnel.

International and domestic travel and temporary site assignments are required.

Job Skills:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Physical Science from an accredited school. Four to six years Customer Support Engineering experience or equivalent specific experience in the same or related engineering activities. P.E. Licenses preferred.

Working knowledge and understanding of the principles, concepts and practices for all facets of combustion turbine power plant equipment, operation and maintenance.

Excellent written and verbal skills are required since position is the single point contact with customers. The position requires the ability to translate general customer requirements into specific Siemens Westinghouse action. Without having control must exert influence on both customer and Siemens Westinghouse management to meet a multitude of objectives. Must persuade customers regarding unit equipment upgrades and modifications and also in negotiating settlements for warranty claims.

Comments:

Position will be at Los Mina Plant in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Applicant should have extensive knowlege of SWPC maintenance procedures and paractices including knowledge of WDPF control system. Must be bilingual in Spanish.

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Major Preferred: Mechanical Engineering

Minimum years of experience: 4

Travel: Light (<25%)
