Even at my $20 rate ... a $5 ATM fee is once a week.... 4x$5

Easy is better... no thinking , less accounts

I run 4 accounts in 3 countries... it gets confusing.. actually more...
I dislike all the transactions but have no choice.

One US account for you... and a debit card until you figure it out,
I think I opened with this idea.... at the start.

Are street money changers usually affiliated with a Casa de Cambio? it would be nice to drive up, hand them a check and and drive away with the cash. Rather than walking out of a storefront with a wad of cash.

I have a guy I've been using for years that I could ask, but just wondering out loud. I guess the same safety as walking into a bank to cash a check, but I'm lazy.

That's exactly what I did when I lived there for a year.....

    Keep it simple.....

    Won't apply to everyone.....

    Situations vary.......

    But never had a problem......

The money would be available within three to four days (my experience), just time and schedule the deposits as needed.

I wouldn't mess w/the casa de cambios -- be very careful with them.

Can you please give some reasons why this would be a bad idea.

There is no FDIC in the DR is another reason besides not putting all of your eggs in one basket.

    That works DOC
But our man here is feeling his way along.... checking it out.

Best to start the easy way and see which doors open.
As we know, not all RD doors open the same way to everybody.

I don't think anyone is contemplating that idea........
just trying to shift money and easily and inexpensively as possible.

Again..........KISS...... don't overthink it is the key.
