Well then try tuifly, 400 roundtrip, wake up dutchman.

I've used tuifly (to Brussels, and for 550 euros), but to Amsterdam Tuifly is about the same as the others, and more choice from low cost carriers will probably make the others more competitive.?

According to Ryanair's website the partnership they announced with Air Europa will mean they'll be flying to Latin America, including DR.

Hopefully this helps to lower the ridiculous 1200+ euro flights I'm finding with Air France , Iberia and Air Europa.
Look into Evelop, a charter carrier also.

Evelop Airlines, branded as evelop!, is a Spanish charter airline based at Palma de Mallorca Airport, that operates a selection of short and long haul flights out of Spain and Portugal on behalf of tour operators. It is owned by Barceló Viajes. It is a subsidiarity of Orbest, an airline bought by Barceló Group in 2013 following the collapse of Orizonia Corporation.

Evelop serves the following destinations:[1]
Country City Airport Name Notes/Refs
Cuba Havana José Martí International Airport
Cuba Varadero Juan Gualberto Gómez Airport
Dominican Republic Punta Cana Punta Cana International Airport
Jamaica Kingston Norman Manley International Airport
Mauritius Port Louis Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport Seasonal
Mexico Cancun Cancún International Airport
Portugal Lisbon Lisbon Airport Seasonal Hub
Spain Madrid Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport Hub

Eurowings are doing some really cheap fares from POP & PUJ to many European destinations via Cologne.  Their connections are very good as they seem to coordinate the long haul arrivals with the onward short haul connections.
