Fishing is great this year off La Romana waters
José Gonzalvo, director of the Casa de Campo Marina in La Romana, announced that 2017 has been a great year for sports fishing in La Romana waters.

He observed that so far this year 1,003 blue marlins have been caught and released in 109 fishing days. He said during the 2017 fishing season, they have also caught and released 26 white marlins and 14 pez vela, for 1042 species caught and released in 1528 outings.

Gonzalvo said this is an outstanding mark. "In no other destination in the world did something happen like this in a season," he reported in a press conference. He said the best months were February and March. "This year, in a symbolic way we reached the mark of the marlin No. 500," he said.
