There's been a lot in the Dominican news lately about how many Haitian mothers are giving birth in DR/Santo Domingo. They've also been discussing another disturbing trend - that when a Dominican woman dies, someone comes forward to register a birth to that woman, giving that child Dominican citizenship/identity, when the child is actually Haitian.

Today's paper has another story. This is about a Haitian baby/boy whose mother somehow secured the birth certificate of a Dominican baby boy, and raised the boy with that name. He turned out to be a great ballplayer, and the Yankees signed him. Everything unraveled and he had to serve a one year ban on playing.

Haitian player who had false Dominican identity is the most coveted prospect of The Yankees

NY. Estevan Florial, a native of Haiti who was taken to the Dominican Republic by his mother, where he assumed another identity with a birth certificate that belonged to the Dominican Haniel D'Oleo, is the most coveted prospect in the organization of The Yankees Of New York, and excels by his tools: speed in the bat, feet and strength of his left arm, as left fielder, while the specialists assure that it surpasses to possible rookie of the year, Aaron Judge.

Florial, who is now in the Triple A team in Tampa, Florida, was suspended for a year by the Major Leagues for having supplanted the identity of D'Oleo, who was 17 years old, but his mother managed to get a record Of birth and identity card and electoral, with his real name.

The Yankees scouts have observed since 2014, that Floriel has skills without waste and few weaknesses as a player, so they decided to sign him for the Bronx Novena.

The Yankees did not bother to review their birth certificate and brought it to the field with the false name of Haniel D'Oleo, becoming one of the most prized future stars even after the discovery of the false name, and after that Was suspended.

Over a one-year ban, the player said he learned a lot about his downtime, after which he is listed as the fourth best prospect, according to the Major League Baseball website.

"I'm happy to be here, to be playing baseball every day," Florial said.

The 19-year-old led the Class A league in Charleston until his promotion on August 1 of this year, and became hotter in Tampa.

Between the two levels, he added .298 / .374 / .476, a threat of power (12 home runs in 103 games), a stolen base threat (22 in 30 attempts) and a towering off-field arm (10 assists).

I don't know if this is fits into this thread but I'll post and it can be moved.

My wife went into Edenorte to pay the bill on our main acct. and a couple of others. The couple of others don't use much elec. so she pays 6 months in advance.

One is just a field that we have a well on to water it and with lots of rain this year we have not used the well so should be the only the service charge. She gets the bill and goes nuts... so she says. Not like her at all.

Somehow? still sorting it out. Our E. account has a "piggy back" that a "Haitian girl" had on our acct. She had put down a DP 7K deposit and that was gone real fast along with our money and needed several thousands of DS to keep our acct. open.

Several questions? How did someone else get onto our acct without us being their. Our Corp. information was given to her. Our property is very distinctive and well known....... that we are not Haitian and the land is very different from others. (later explained)

Even though my wife is asking questions, she got NO answers other then the new bill... that she did NOT pay but did get a copy of the bill.

We talked to our PN guys that live on our property and they said it was illegal and they would go in with my wife. Next day.

My wife follows 2 PN into the office. Not in uniform but with ID and Guns. They push everyone aside and into the managers and kick everyone out leaving the manager. She gets the info and says that it was Edenortes' fault that they did not follow the property description for a new acct. and used our meter. ???? They took off the other person and credited us.

When asked about getting a print out on the other person and how and why and everything. The manager refused.

Having our Corp. info in someone else's hands and not knowing who this person is... Our PN guys will go to the Fiscal to obtain an order.

Go to PROTECOM and file a case there.
This is a consumer defense agency manged by Superintendency for Electricity. It helps fight EdeEste/Norte/Sur and its decisions have binding power on Ede's. They are also quite "consumer friendly" and if yo have at least a part of "right" on your side, you will be heard
