Postponed measures of coercion to four alleged false clinic doctors in Las Terrenas

SAMANÁ, Dominican Republic - A court in this province postponed the seizure of coercive measures to four alleged false doctors working at the International Specialty Clinic in Las Terrenas municipality on September 27 .

The decision was taken by Judge Mayra de la Cruz , of the Office of Instruction of the Court of Santa Barbara.

Corina Abreu Polanco, the wife of Humberto Alcequiez Nolasc , stated that her spouse was held at the referred care center on October 24, 2016 for having suffered a toothache for five days. She explained that at that time she saw that her husband did not improve and decided to take him to another health center in San Francisco de Macorís , where he was detected a jaw infectious process.

While lawyers filed a Public Health document stating that the accused Luis Damar Martínez, Reynaldo Rodríguez Estévez and Luis Corrales Rosalba , are not registered in the databases to practice the medical profession.

Likewise, it is expected on September 27 to know the request for a measure of coercion for a year of preventive detention requested by the prosecutor of Las Terrenas, Elinton Santiago.

We have two Cuban clinics here in LT, this is one of them: Clínica Especializada Internacional. This is their website https://www.ceiterrenas.com/

As usual, there are all kinds of very good and shaky docs everywhere. I had one in LT that wanted to arranged an examination for my wife in another city with better facilities but wanted to accompany us and get paid for his time. I told him that we could find the place without him. Some of these people think that if you are a gringo than they can take advantage of you. My wife speaks fluent Spanish and we didn't need an escort. Some people might pay for this service if they are desperate enough and feel their health is in real jeopardy. This whole affair smelled like dead fish to me. Made our own plans.

you have to give the guy credit for creativity, though. he might not be smart, but he is hoping you are not, either.

On the other hand, I have been dealing with this clinic since before they had the fancy building, and we never had an issue. It seems some Cubans have not yet registered their Cuban diploma, hence the accusation of not being a "real doctor".
