Authorities seize 20,000 false sexual stimulant pills

SANTO DOMINGO (EFE) - Authorities seized around 20,000 pills of counterfeit sexual stimulants during several raids in various shopping centers in Villa Consuelo.

Prosecutors assigned to the Special Prosecutor's Office for Crimes and Crimes against Health (Pedecsa) and the District Attorney's Office, along with members of the National Police's Counterfeiting Department participated in the raids were carried out in Comercial Dimmta, Comercial Somos and Dicofa.

The institution offered the information through a statement explaining that the work was carried out within the institutional strategic plan of the Public Ministry for the prevention and prosecution of this crime, launched by Attorney General Jean Alain Rodríguez .

The Public Ministry explained that during the operation were seized 19,392 Sidelnafil sexual enhancement pills without sanitary registration, which is considered counterfeit drug.

In addition, 252 units of contraband and unlabeled Ensure were confiscated, 3,080 packages of planning pills and more than 8,000 capsules of vitamin E, among other illicit market pharmaceuticals.

At the moment there have been no arrests, although investigations are deepened to determine the source of counterfeit products to proceed with the dismantling of a possible mafia structure.

i take medication for hypertension and an irregular heartbeat, and every time i take a pill i wonder if it is going to do me any good, knowing that it might just be chalk dust. the state of affairs is what it is because a lot of government people are in on the racket. that is my story, and i am sticking to it. otherwise, they would have passed laws giving guys 50 years in jail for false meds, and stopped the foolishness a long time ago.

the title is misleading. the article does not mention counterfeit viagra brand, just generic sildenafil without sanitary registration (even the picture shows it loose in plastic bags).

I know someone who found out the hard way that the high blood pressure pills she was taking in DR were fake. Be careful where you buy them

thanks for the heads up. i go to one pharmacy , and one only. also, because it is dirt cheap, i get my pressure tested once per week. it costs just 100 pesos...

try 'Quality Prescription Drugs'... a Canadian company that ships.

Use the MIA address.
I get stuff there.
You can discuss the manufacturing quality with them.

I specify a certain generic and ask for and get the Cdn one... not the 'offshore' brand
A small price premium... hardly anything for the assurance

They will want a prescription... no 'fly by night', that dish out meds indiscriminately.

You worked in a pharmacy, not everyone knows what sildenafil is, so I added that.

That's why I report this one needs a doctors prescription...and will the source of the drugs 
Canada, South America. Etc

The ones that just ship..... buyer beware 

But suit yourself...
I will agree, some of these companies are shysters.

WW... not disputing the firm you deal with. As a public safety measure I am saying that things are not necessarily always what they seem to be. It seems that for example, CanadaDrugs.com is asking for doctor prescription. Read/watch the links ... 

My point is some "grey" people are using the "Canadian" good reputation to sell/distribute fake stuff. I am not naming names as I dont want to get sued. Just showing links which are in the public domain as a "caution".

Buyer beware is all I am saying. 

Full disclosure: I am Canadian, currently in Ottawa (yes I can get your docs stamped by Foreign Affairs in lieu of Apostille). The person who almost died is a Canadian currently residing in Tampa (FL).

So if people in Canada have problem with fake stuff, imagine the DR! (just trying to link it back to DR)
