Bored in Jarabacoa, I can easily understand. Your friend was very expensively bored there.

Not my problem, but I might ask to let it to me for a weekend to take some better. :D

:D :D I know you prefer the Capital, err the North coast....

Yes I just love Santo Domingo, like I would love getting hemorrhoids. It is the north coast for us.
(Wife is from Jarabacoa and she does not like it there either).

Prices up there are ridiculous.

A few years ago the ex and I were putzing around up in the hills looking at small houses with a few hundred meters of land.

We had hoped to find something along the lines of 4 walls with a roof close to a stream. We did, but even those were asking 60-80K even though the "stream" was a half a kilometer away.

We found one self sufficient American couple who virtually NEVER come down from the mountains. Now THAT is roughing it.

If this place sells, for more than 700.000 dollars, I can become a millionaire every year!

What is asked for property in Jarabacoa and what it sells for are two entirely different universes.

And it just proves the old saying: Property in the DR is easy to buy and hard to sell.

I see large, nice houses all over Jarabacoa, $350,000+, that have been for sale for 10 years.

"They" are Dominicans. Apparently you too, so don't ask me. You must know better than I do... :D
