Has anyone else noticed that the beat up older taxis are being replaced - quite rapidly - on some of the major routes within the centre of the city?
On Av. Independencia today between km 9 and 8, it was apparent that the majority of the public taxis now plying the avenue were newish with orange and green markings on the roof.
It was, and perhaps still is, a nightmare further out near La Sirena, with the beat up older ones disrupting everything on the road.
My questions are: Are the sindicos financing the purchase of newer vehicles for the taxi drivers? And is this happening on other routes?
Plenty of all orange taxis abound too throughout the country.
