Hi everybody.
Just checking where I can have info regarding the documents required to open a business in DR. I checked in internet but I cannot find anything specific. And another question... is a foreigner allowed to start a Food Truck business? Anyone with knowledge in this matter? ( Legislation, Permits, Licences...)

Hi Fiocco. Start with having your residency ...will take you several months. It all starts in your home country, at the local dominican embasy or consulate. If you don't do it yourself it will cost you a 2500 dollars.

Unless things have changed recently, you don't have to have Residency to open a business here. I didn't. I would advise visiting a lawyer who will do it for you. I can't help with Food Truck advice, except that there is plenty of Dominican competition.

If you have money you can do whatever you want to do here...
Don't you read the news?
And even if you don't have money in most cases you can do
whatever you want to do here so long as you're not stepping
on the wrong person's shoes. I don't see many food trucks
driving around this country so probably not too many shoes
for you to worry about stepping on :cheeky:

Open a pizza place there are none :smoke: wink ...wink... you will have more fun by taking a bag of money and throwing it in streets and watching people scramble over each other for it.. go gamble in casino...pulll a Charlie Sheen... but coming on forum here and asking about opening chip truck business in DR with out even being a resident says you ain't ready from for an ass raping yet let alone who to pay propina and when.. come enjoy the sun and beer unless you have ****load of money and bored..

You gotta love DR1. "You need residency" "you don't need residency", "Plenty of competition" "no competition"

OP start here https://cei-rd.gob.do/servicios-al-inversionista/ it's all in Spanish but I assume you speak Spanish or you wouldn't know what food people wanted. The advice is free and you can then take it from there to see if you need any paid for legal or taxation advice.

Personally I think there is a great opportunity for a Thai and Indian food truck parked outside my house in the mountains.
