Long Night of Museums is set for Saturday, 9 December 2017 from 9am to 12 midnight. This is a great time to visit the Colonial City museums, including the Santo Domingo Alcazar and the Museo de las Casas Reales. The Ministry of Culture announces that in addition to the museums staying open until late, many cultural events have been programmed including life statues, Christmas caroling, children workshops and guided visits to the museums. On Saturday, a formal opening of the Long Night of Museums will take place at the Museo de las Casas Reales where the students of the Escuela de Música Típica Ñico Lora will perform.
