I am too old... TOO OLD !!!

Seriously, my age was an insurmountable hurdle to a good rate.

    How about that ???
Maybe they were afraid you would forget to make payments. But seriously I would not be loaning on cars in DR. How could they find you or the car. What can they do cancel your cedula ?

Well, back from a 12 hour day trip down to Santiago to buy a car with 5+ hours of help from The Gorgon.

I can't praise this guy enough. He found us the car we wanted. It was CLEAN. Just what we asked for. We met him at the dealer at noon.

We test drove the car. I asked to have it put up on a lift so I could inspect the chassis and attachments. It looked good for the year of the car. Bushings in decent shape. Springs and mounts all looked good.

I did my usual checklist and we were buyers.

Gorgon had negotiated a decent price and I squeezed for a little bit more. I also squeezed for a 48.5 exchange rate since I was going to wire USD... which I got.

Gorgon middled every conversation for me. He made sure we got license, title, window sticker and insurance. It was all bundled into one wire.

When the title comes in, Gorgon is going to grab it for me and put it in a Caribe for pickup at my local Caribe.

I took Gorgon to my bank to do the wire. Again, he middled every conversation. I will spare you the dirty DR details but suffice it to say it was not smooth as silk but all things considered...we got it done.

I had Gorgon communicate back to the dealer that the money was wired.

We went to Sirena and got lasagna, pizza, cake and some wafer deserts and drinks. Much needed!

We went back to the dealer, picked up the keys, got all receipts and paper work. Gorgon explained all the documents to me.

We drove off. No way I could have done this without Gorgon. Let me just say, he is competent, punctual, works hard, and goes the whole distance.

I felt no pressure. He is also a very nice, respectful man trying to do an honest days work.

His service was invaluable to us.

    PM me for more information.

I am thinking of the Hyundai Tucson diesel - but there are not many on Corotos. Of course I'd like a MUX but just don't want to drive that nice a vehicle.
Does anyone know much about the Hyundai Diesel ?

That's brutal, Bill. Hard to believe if not a tale from the DR.

They probably have an actuarial table to determine if you will croak prior to making the last payment
