Please let us know how your friends make out. Selection, brands, quality and price are always good to know. I see a new mattress in my future soon and am not looking forward to yet another trip to the middle of the island to satisfy the need.

Found a good king sized bed and double pillow top mattress at Distribudora Gonzalez on Calle Beller in Puerto Plata. It is a big and heavy bed supposedly made of mahogany. Supposedly. It was $1,828 US.

Warning: The sheets they sell are of poor quality. The bed and mattress are well made. Been sleeping on it for going on two years.

My friends bought a king size mattress at Hidelisa today for 28,000 rd. They also bought a headboard and base combo for the same amount but it arrived damaged so was sent back. Hope they are comfortable.
