For gutters we used Inteccanlu in Sosua 809 299 3238 or 829 763 3832, forgotten his name. He has good quality materials and his own extruding equipment for custom fit.

And we bought plastic material instead of using metal. Much less than the price for the aluminum gutters. It was available in Puerto Plata and Sabaneta.

Agreed aluminum is most expensive ...how did plastic ones stand up?

The other thing you see done is to cut a PVC pipe in half (lengthwise).

10 ft of that becomes 20 ft of trough

But as with all options - secure mounting is the key

Only on for 6 months, so no way to know about ultimate lifetime of the plastic versus the tropical sun. Being near the ocean, even aluminum corrodes.

Plastic takes about 200 yrs to deteriorate....they say

The brackets will go before the trough - most likely

The system I used has the same plastic in the channels, brackets and connectors.

100 years works for me...:squareeye

I have seen those used in the states and webster is right - the brackets do get brittle after a few years of hot sun and if the plastic gutters backup with much water the weight tends to snap the brackets - then the gutter sags.
Not as many large leaves falling on roofs here as in areas with deciduous trees, so they might work well.

Used the guy Abuela mentions, Diego is his name if I remember correctly. Nice fella. Gutters still fine after 11 years or so.

I don't know about 200 yrs. plastic can dry out and get brittle. But It's still the best option.

Ain't that the truth. A screw every 4 ft won't hack it.
