Dominican Wings, a current charter and ACMI operator in Santo Domingo Las Américas Airport, who has been flying charter service for various international tour operators shuttling tourists to and from the Dominican Republic for the past several years, has announced new investors and change of business model to a scheduled service airline operating under ultra low cost model. The new partner is former Wizz Air CEO who currently also forms part of Argentinian ULCC startup FlyBondi.

Having a former CEO of a successful European ultra low cost airline on board, will hopefully be better grounds for success than having Venezuelan oligarchs as the owners (case of PAWA).

I would prefer routes to Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú, Brazil. Those routes need competition more than USA routes. Moreover, they already operate there their charters (South America).
