It was an interesting movie. I am a big fan of Science Fiction. I do still wonder what the ending meant, if it meant anything at all. I suspect not, since most Science Fiction writers explain the circumstances of events in exquisite detail.

HAL is an acronym for Heuristic Algorithmic.

However the letters in the alphabet after H - A - L are I - B - M.

The project manager that wrote DEC's VMS operating system went to work for Microsoft.

The letters in the alphabet after V - M - S are W - N - T. It was no accident.

I actually spoke on the phone to David N Cutler for a few minutes.
