Needs to be immediate and no local bank account available.

Best/cheapest way? Remittance/consignment at the bank?

Please advice asap. Thanks

Either Caribe Express or Vimenca (Wester Union) will work. Cheapest? 6 of one 1/2 dozen the other. Unless you are sending a LARGE amount it is of little consequence.

Does not Western union charge 5 %? Regardless if it is inside DR or outside? It is 70k pesos

Use Caribe Express. Money is there almost instantly. Charge is about 5%. Don't use Western Union for DR to DR, more hassle.

Hop on the bus. There in two hours for less than $RD 300. Two hours back but you can treat yourself to something not available here in the North while in Santiago to make the trip back seem less of a waste of time.

You do not have a friend in Santiago? They pay the party you reimburse them when you next meet. Zero overhead

Ended up taking the bus... Western Union wanted 7%...

For the future... the guagua will take it

I sent payment (cash) to the Cdn Embassy for my pickup...
sealed it in an envelope and sent it.

Cabrera to POP - via RSJ

The Embassy called me to announce receipt.... easy and fast
