I renewed last week. 1000 pesos per year of renewal if you have permanent residency. 3000 pesos if you are on a temporary residency. Free if you are a citizen of the DR.
Someone told me that you have to have 18 months remaining on your passport when you apply to renew your cedula or residency. Does anyone know if this is correct, please?
This is what it says on the Migracion website PASAPORTE Y FOTOCOPIA DE LA PÁGINA PRINCIPAL ESTE,
CON DIECIOCHO (18) MESES MÍNIMOS DE VIGENCIA. LA DGM ES FLEXIBLE CON EL TEMA Y CONSIDERARÁ, EN CADA CASO, LA REALIDAD DE CADA PAÍS Y EL RIGOR DE SUS NORMAS EN LA EXPEDICIÓN DE LOS PASAPORTES.
In my experience they are indeed flexible on this.
