Saw the following at La Fuente supermercado in Santiago today.

Coca-Cola is selling for $59.99 for a 2 liter bottle.

But for $109.99 for a 2 liter bottle, you get a "FREE" 1.5 liter Jugo Del Valle.

Last week one of the stores had 3 packs of laundry soap, all taped together for I think it was 250 pesos. Individually they were 75 pesos each. So 225 for the same 3. Tape must be more expensive than I thought.

I stand there in Playero in Sosua all the time and figure out if buying 3 packs with 4 rolls of TP is a better price than buying one 12 roll pack. Sometimes it is.

I find examples every time I look where the pricing scheme makes no sense at all to me. Individual bars of soap in separate boxes is cheaper than 3 bars of the same bath soap in one box.

three for a dime and nine for a quarter just does not enter the Retail Merchandising Trade here in RD.
Amusing just the same. It is in all the stores. Had to educate Espossa on this gimmick.

We buy cat food 2 kilos at a time. In both La Sorena and Nacional, two one-kilo bags are much less expensive that one two-kilo bags. I never figured that one out...

I see things like this all the time. Buy 2 smaller ones and pay less or the same total for one large one. Example: Lays Potato Chips. Buy 2 69 rd bags as opposed to one for 144rd and you will not only get more chips, but they will stay fresher longer. -

I accompanied a friend grocery shopping at La Sirena recently and was attempting to point out the advantages/disadvantages of buying single units and bundled units and small bags vs. bulk. The problem arose when the same item/same brand, listed one size in ounces and the other in grams. I saw that as a means of keeping the unsuspecting shopper from determining what was a better purchase. I've yet to meet someone using conversion tables to compare prices while shopping. I do it all the time just to see how and if I'm being screwed.
