In English: You Broke My Heart

In Spanish: Me rompiste el corazón

is the spanish saying correctly because if i say only "me", it means yo as myself. Should I say tu instead?

Thanks

It's correct. You could also say " me rompiste el corazón" but the pronoun - in this case - is usually dropped because the way the verb is conjugated makes it clear. Rompiste = you broke; me rompiste indicates it was my heart that you broke.

" me rompiste el corazón" adds dramatic emphasis.

Add rum and call her Nereyda, and you have a bachata tune:

Tú me rompiste el corazón
Ay ay ay

Él te compró un yipetón
Ay ay ay

Y yo me muero de dolor
Ay ay ay
Ay ay ay
Ay ay ay

Tú me rompiste el corazón

I just happen to like that bachata with Nereeeeydaa as it's hook...:) And the rum flowing freely definitely helps things move along!
