It woke me up at exactly 5:14 am as I looked at the clock. I'm on the 14th floor of a high rise on the Malecon in Santo Domingo. Being from California though, I just turned over and went back to sleep. No big deal for an X Californian, just a mild tembler. We don't take notice until it gets above a 7.

I did wake me up, but I did not know what it was. Dogs barked. I looked at the clock and it was 5:14 or so...

My daughter is here showing off grandchild #13, Annester, 3 months....and she told me it was a quake. But just a sudden jolt. No aftershocks.

Cheers,

HB

Most construction here won't survive a 7....so you'll be wide awake!

I felt it here in Santiago. I must have been woken up by the first
one. The second one definitely got my attention and that of my
neighbors on the 4th floor as well. Remember looking at my
phone and it was after 5:00am.
