HI Everyone --

Just thought I would offer my services as personal courier to any one who lives in Santo Domingo.

I'd be happy to take letters, postcards or whatever to mail back to the states with me. I'll even mail the stuff!! : )

Shoot me an email if anyone has something they need mailed and we can meet up this weekend or early next week..

Good Offer!!!

Consider this. The Dominican Postal Service has not payed their employees for two weeks and some workers have decided to create their own stamps to make some money. Have you noticed the stamp being sold at gift shops without a price posted in it? Well, this stamp is produced outside the regulations, yet it is distributed by a "buscon" and tourists buy it without knowing that their postcard or mail will never reach its destination.

Just for the record, I moved to DR in 1993 and have yet to receive a posted letter from anywhere. All my mail is privately delivered. If you buy a post card and the bogus $25 stamp being sold at gift shops, you got taken to the cleaners.

The good news is that junk mail is non-existent in DR.
