So here I am in Venezuela the other day, under the influence of a few Polars (no comparison with the great Presidente) and some good rum when I'm talking with a friend about what appears to be the purely Dominican word "Chopa". In his 73 years he'd never heard of that word so I translated a "Chopa" into a "Campasina". This guy starts laughing and slapping my back so hard that I wished I could have run around with him when he was younger. We'd have had some good fun. He then translated a Dominican "Chopa" into what he called a "Capocha". Neither of those words are in any dictionary in my house. So what's the distinguishing factor between a "Chopa" and a "Capocha" if any? For any feminazis out there, yes, the word can end with an "o" too.
