Tonights Ball game

Detroit Tigers vs Kansas City Royals 9 pm EDST,
The Kansas City Royals' game against the Detroit Tigers on June 25 would not seem to be a matchup that anyone would think twice about ? two horrible teams mired in miserable seasons.

Yet the game will have major significance in the Dominican Republic, the island nation that has led the explosion of Latin talent in baseball. It will be the first game in major-league history featuring two managers from the Dominican ? Detroit's Luis Pujols, who replaced Phil Garner in April, and Kansas City's Tony Pena, hired this past week to manage the Royals.

Luis Pujols and Tony Pe?a the respective managers, both from the DR will have the privilege of the Dominican national athem being played prior to the game and meeting with President Hipolito Mejia, who will throw out the first pitch of the game.

Does this man ever stay home to tend to the business of the country, his 29th trip abroad, maybe he is going for a streak to match Luis Castillo.
He should really appear at the Allstar game and honour the Dominican players in the Majors.

Just another note to add:
This year, 26.1 percent of players on Opening Day rosters were born outside the 50 United States, led by 74 from the Dominican. The only other Dominican manager has been Felipe Alou, currently Pujols' bench coach in Detroit.
