How is it possible that Henry Kissinger, who supported the dictator, the perpetrator of genocide in Chile in the 1970's named Augusto Pinochet, can be among the Friends of the Dominican Republic?. (See Dominican Week in New York, September 20-27, 2002).

First, why have you started the exact same thread 2 times?

With respect to your question, why can't he? That was 1970, this is 2002. Times and circumstances change. The US supported Osama bin Laden when Russia was occupying Afghanistan.

Are all your opinions today exactly the same as they were in 1970?

Kissinger-Pinochet

No, opinions are not today what they were in 1973, but, thanks to Mass Media, we now know far more about Kissinger and Pinochet than ever before.

You know if your an Iraqi civilian you probably think of George Bush and Bill Clinton as worse than Pinocet. Kissenger's job was to carryout his bosses wishes and do things in his countries interest. Supporting Pinocet was in America's interest at that time during the cold war.
