I'm considering to import my car into the Dominican Republic.
It's an old car (11years) but I'm attached to it.
Is it possible (because of the old age) to import this car and how much does it cost? The value of the car is about US$ 1,000.--.

Problem is, in this country you can never be sure that a deviation from the rules is certain in any individual case. In your case, if you rely on the Director of Custom's statement you may get the car here only to find that because it is older than 5 years it will cost you a great deal of money (into the pockets of the Customs inspectors) to bring it into the country.

Doesn't matter what you want to bring through customs, you are going to pay no matter what! Ask "PIB",or anyone who has gone to Haina to "Liberate" goods.CRIS
